Re: Watcha doing today?
might just be easier to put a couple gf in there, though that does open them up for predation. Last winter, not this, I had the whole winter turtle pool filled with duckweed. For some reason, it took off and the WL didn't. So when it came springtime, naturally I had to feed it to the fish. Boy, was I surprised at the amount. I mean, I'm just netting it all and putting it in a 5 gallon pail, no real idea how 'thick' it was getting. This is what it looked like after I dumped it in the pond;j.w wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 1:19 am Cleaned out my little frog pond today. I thought of putting some fish in but too late now I got most all out and will leave it set for a bit and see if any has hidden and will come back. I know that stuff can really explode fast in a massive growth.brokensword wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 3:24 ammight just be easier to put a couple gf in there, though that does open them up for predation. I have a Costco card but hardly go- unless for my glasses- l love when l do- need to make a point if it! Sounds like you got some yummies!j.w wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 10:04 pm Went to Costco today, almost no more mask day starting tomorrow here. We don't wear them anyways, never have except when they yell at us. Bought some yummy chocolate salted caramels on sale and boy they sure had a bunch of give away samples today. Not even hungry now for lunch. Got our rewards check from them too and it paid for all we bought today there. Over $200 bucks of stuff! They had my favorite Tumeric on sale too! 1500mgs per 2 pill serving. Got my yummy turkey pepperoni sticks from Walmart too! No walk today, but drove by the free shack, nothing worth looking at today. No rain yet but it's on the way!

Re: Watcha doing today?
@ZenQueen That's mainly why we go to Costco, for the goodies. We do buy some stuff but never have our cart full like some I see! Get all our prescriptions there and w/our insurance it turns out they are always free. I try to buy stuff there when it's on sale mostly.
So today I did more frog pond work. Took out some big rocks I had in there as once the pond is full and the algae grows you can't even see them. Will just keep it smooth linered. Now I gotta sit and separate all the Anacharis, Parrots Feather etc. from more duckweed in bins. No plants left in the frog pond now except for the Water lilies. Once I get all the duckweed apart from the other plants I will put the plants back in minus duckweed. This is a real chore!
Hope these frogs appreciate all this work

I'm sure they will! How close are you to hearing their calls? And do they keep you awake at night? Or are they mainly daydreamers?
Re: Watcha doing today?
Prolly about 100ft away from my frog pond but my big pond where they come each Spring is right near our front porch. Not a whole lot of noise as only a couple of them ever show up. If there were a ton I would enjoy the sounds! I can hear them out our back bedroom window singing from somewhere and it puts me to sleep. Also love the sound of pounding rain!brokensword wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 9:13 pmI'm sure they will! How close are you to hearing their calls? And do they keep you awake at night?
